Time to Listen So many choices and so little time There’re moments I could lose my mind. Too many options from which to choose To be accepted or to be refused. We make our choices and we move along Some tear us apart and some make us strong But deep within there’s a little voice To help us make most any choice... So I need time to listen to my heart I need a place where I can be apart I want space to breathe, I want some time to leave, I want only what is right, I need time to listen to my heart I need a place where I can be apart I want space to breathe, I want some time to leave, I want only what is right, tonight... This world is surely a crazy place, A wild ride, a hectic pace. But through it all we must carry on Until the day when we are gone. But as crazy as this life might be We all possess the light to see. To look within and to realize That we have power is no surprise... (Chorus... ... in life...) Time to Listen ©1994 Jerry Mills Boom Zing Reprinted with permission www.jerrymills.com

The Real You 04:37
The Real You You are the only one who knows the real you, that’s how it goes. This person who you’re learnin’ to be No one but you will ever see... When you see yourself through your own eyes Do you see someone with no disguise? Cuz you can’t disguise yourself, it’s true, Or you’ll never become the real you... Chorus: So do not be afraid when you have a choice to make Trust yourself enough to let you learn from your mistakes. Your life can be a bumpy ride when you have the power to decide But believe in all you say and do And you’ll become the real you! You are the only you you’ve got, You cannot be who you are not. And you must live life to figure out What your life is all about... What you like and what you don’t... What you’ll do and what you won’t... Cuz the one thing you are here to do Is to become the real you!: Bridge: How can anyone but you claim to know Which choice that you should make, Or which way you should go? So when someone tries to tell you what to do... Remember, they don’t know the real you! Chorus... Tag: You are the only one who knows... The real you, that’s how it goes! One Sure Thing If there’s one sure thing in life that can really get to me It’s that energy I often feel runnin through me! I was just a little kid when I first learned about it But once I did I knew... I’d never live without it A thing called love... and I just love it! There’s nothing else I’ve ever known that could ever rise above it... And even when I broke my heart my broken heart was mended By the one sure thing on which my life depended.. On a thing called LOVE One sure thing called love! I spent a lot of my time in life searchin for hidden treasure. Along the way I’d have to say I found both pain and pleasure But I never knew what the search for hidden treasure would bring Until I learned to treasure that one sure thing... Chorus: A thing called love... And I just love it! There’s nothing else I’ve ever known that could ever rise above it... And even when I broke my heart my broken heart was mended By the one sure thing on which my life depended... On a thing called LOVE One sure thing called love! Cuz love is one of those words you hear a lot of people using... But when you see what people do it sure can seem confusing... Cuz love is one sure thing that’ll never, ever, ever come true Until it’s something we both say and do... A thing called love... And I just love it! There’s nothing else I’ve ever known that could ever rise above it... And even when I broke my heart my broken heart was mended By the one sure thing on which my life depended... The Lookin Out for Us Could someone answer my question please I'm askin now on bended knees Is there some secret that we don't know... Some key to really makin love grow? Chorus: It seems so often that what starts as love Turns into a matter of push and shove I don't want our love to end that way So I guess there's something my heart’s gotta say... If you're lookin’ out for you, While I'm lookin’ out for me Who's lookin’ out for us? Cuz it just might be... The looking out for us ... that's the key! How is it I can be so dense, Cuz now it seems to make real good sense. We get so busy with what we must do That we spend too much time on me and on you It seems so often that what starts as love Turns into a matter of push and shove I don't want our love to end that way So I guess there's something my heart’s gotta say... Chorus... So I’m askin you to tell me now, What can I do? Would you show me how? Let’s take a chance and let ouselves go So we together can make our love grow... Chorus... Send Help in a Hurry I want peace... I want some sweet relief from all these troubles and worries... Send help in a hurry! I want hope... I don’t want the end of a rope I wanna be optimistic, not just some statistic! I want space... I want a quiet place with room to live and to grow, to come and to go... I want time... I don’t wanna waste what is mine I wanna use what I’m given and really start livin! Is it any wonder that we wonder what went wrong? Is there any way we can make it right? Is there any reason that it has to take so long to get along and give up the fight? I want health... I don’t want no riches or wealth I want the wages I’ll earn and the lessons I’ll learn... I want strength... I wanna go the length to do whatever I can to lend a hand... Chorus I want peace... I want some sweet relief from all these troubles and worries... Send help in a hurry! I want hope... I don’t want the end of a rope I wanna be optimistic, not just some statistic! I want peace... I want peace... Spinnin 03:32
Spinnin My mind keeps spinnin’ around and round and round Thoughts keep on talkin, although my voice doesn’t make a sound. Is there no escapin it? There’s no escape I ever found! As my mind keeps spinnin, around and round and round... With the best intentions, and new inventions, I cannot seem to get a grip on my thoughts so quick to slip... Away I’m thinkin, but pretty soon I’m sinkin back again into despair, like a bird shot from the air. My thoughts go racin off into the great unknown. Spinnin at the speed of thought sends fire racin through my bones. These mental odysseys I don’t know if I condone... as my thoughts go racin off into the great unknown... Chorus: There’s work to be done... and work should be fun. Too often works is hard to do when my mind won’t see me through. I get distracted! My thoughts refracted like a light’s rays through the lens, never to be the same again! My mind keeps spinnin’ around and round and round Thoughts keep on talkin, although my voice doesn’t make a sound. Is there no escapin it? There’s no escape I ever found! As my mind keeps spinnin, around and round and round... Spinnin ©1993 Jerry Mills Boom Zing Reprinted with permission www.jerrymills.com

The Puzzle 03:58
The Puzzle Look within and you will see the puzzle of identity. Each piece of the puzzle is designed to fit Should you choose to assemble it... Your puzzle pieces are scattered about for you alone to figure out. So many colors, edges and curves What pattern does your mind observe? Chorus: When the pieces to the puzzle start fitting into place... When you start to make connections that can fill the empty space... I do believe that when you do the puzzle will make more sense to you. \ And the more of the puzzle that you figure out the more of you you’ll learn about. An awesome task, quite a challenge you face to fit life’s pieces in their place. Each piece of the puzzle is a part of the sum of all your life will ever become... And so you ponder, you twist and you turn until an image you discern. You sort through the pieces and, as you do, the puzzle makes more sense to you... Chorus... Learn about what makes you whole. Learn to live with self control. Learn respect for others views, and learn to be whoever you choose. Learn about what you desire. Learn what’ll set your soul on fire. And learn about what you can do to make the world’s dreams come true! Look within and you will see the puzzle of identity. Each piece of the puzzle is designed to fit, should you choose to assemble it! The Puzzle ©1995 Jerry Mills Boom Zing Reprinted with permission www.jerrymills.com

Street People In a hot summer city where the sidewalks are gritty And some faces aren't pretty to see, In a spot that was shady I met an old lady who asked, “Would you like to share my tree?" So I sat for awhile, as she waved, winked and smiled At the people who all filed by, She said, “Boy, what's their hurry? They all look so worried!" I just sat there without a reply. As I listened to the stories of her failures and glories I was sorry that she felt old and gray And when I walked away too, somehow I knew I'd be singin about her today... She goes down to the paper stand to visit with the kind old man Who told her she reminded him of younger days, his wife named Kim Who used to tell him funny jokes that she had heard from both her folks Who lived up in Sault Ste. Marie and kept them in their memory... She's got a sister and a grandmother, grandfather, big brother, A father and a mother as well, But for all that she knew, they'd pass her by too, She hadn't seen ‘em in so long she couldn't tell. Tell me, why are there street people When there are church steeples only a block away? Are they there by their choice, or can we even hear their voice When they've got something to say? Just think of this lady whose life seems so shady And maybe she'll help you to see That she's alive too, just like me and you But she's living in her memory... She wakes up on the city street with hopes she'll find someone to meet, Who'll stop awhile and set a spell, and hear the tales she has to tell Of people that she used to know and places that she used to go, These things that she wants you to see, The portraits in her memory... So go out on the city streets and wait awhile, you're sure to meet A person who is looking for a little love, and nothing more, Who longs to call someone a friend. Someone who's willing to defend This lonely person's dignity, preserved within their memory... Street People ©1988 Jerry Mills Boom Zing Reprinted with permission www.jerrymills.com

Best Part of Love We swore our love was true... Now it’s been years since I last saw you. But we’ve both loved again since we went our separate ways And if you wonder how I’ve been There’s something I’d like to say Chorus: Baby, it’s alright! I’m OK... I’m not the same as I was yesterday... But that’s alright... our lives can change Keep a place in your heart where the best part of love remains. If the bad times are the first to come to mind, then take another look you’re sure to find that long before the bad times the good times filled our hearts... Don’t let the good times slip away cuz they are love’s best part. Chorus Bridge: Cuz love is kind, but love is blind... Sometimes a lover finds That the love they make is a chance they take That’ll sometimes leave you cryin... Real love leaves nothin to regret Maybe breakin up is hard but don’t forget That no love that was real love Can leave a lasting scar And all the loves you’ve ever loved made you who you are... Victims 03:46
Victims I just heard about what happened and I bet it blew your mind... Things were goin’ pretty well! You survived enough hard times! And you learned your share of lessons from the choices that you made til you found your straight and narrow on the path from which you’ d strayed... Just when you thought you were on the right track You became the latest victim of some personal attack... But don’t you ever give up...cuz we can never give in... or forever we’ll be victims of the world that we live in! At first it feels hopeless, your innocence is gone! You feel so violated... somebody’s done you wrong! But you start to pick up pieces and you learn to mend the seams cuz you still recall the visions you saw living in your dreams... Chorus: Live in peace... or live in pain! Live with hope... or no hope remains! Live with trust...or live with fear... or live life thankful that you are here! Now there’s the hurt, fear and frustration with which you have to deal But there’s no place for the anger that you’re tempted now to feel. Cuz once we see ourselves as victims and we live just to survive, we lose sight of all our hopes and dreams and that’s why we’re alive Victims ©1995 Jerry Mills Boom Zing Reprinted with permission www.jerrymills.com

Teacher 03:51
Teacher It was later in your lifetime that you decided to teach... Because you’d learned from your experiences that you cared enough to reach... With outstretched arms and an open mind the wonders you believed you’d find in the warm glow of a kid’s young heart whose trust you’d earned since the school year’s start... Cuz you’re a teacher! A Teacher! A beseecher, not a preacher! You’re a reacher for the stars to share with kids no matter who they are! You’re a teacher! A Teacher! You love the job you do! And if this world needs something real bad right now it’s teachers like you! The good times never came easy, there were sacrifices made... All the hours you spent still workin while some others ran off and played. But your students played with new delight and rested better through the night, Because tomorrow in school they wouldn’t be scared cuz they knew they had a teacher who cared! You’re a teacher! A Teacher! A beseecher, not a preacher! You’re a reacher for the stars to share with kids no matter who they are! You’re a teacher! A Teacher You love the job you do! And if this world needs something real bad right now it’s teachers like you! If these kids need something real bad right now it’s teachers like you! Shine 02:40
Shine Everybody knows you... but no one knows you well! What is it that you’re thinkin, or is it kinda hard to tell? It seems that you have chosen to live life on your own But I can see no reason for you to feel like you’re alone... You’ve got a light inside you cannot hide no matter what you do... So let the light in your life come shinin through And let it shine, shine, shine Shine in you! If anyone should ask you, what reason would you give? Is this the life you’ve chosen? or just the life you’re forced to live? It’s you who has the power to live the life you choose. But you better make you decision, there ain’t no time left to lose! You’ve got a light inside you cannot hide no matter what you do... So let the light in your life come shinin through And let it shine, shine, shine Shine in you! You’ve got a light inside you cannot hide no matter what you do... So let the light in your life come shinin through And let it shine, shine, shine Shine in you!
